Stay classy, San Diego.

Being a 'lady'  these days isn't about being a 50's housewife, or wearing a twin set and pearls,or hiding your natural lifestyle in a bid to show our (still) male dominated society we are compliant. Quite the opposite. I think class and being a lady takes blood and guts. Is there anything as cool to aspire to than a healthy, confident, happy, well informed, clever woman? Not to me.
Even today, we need to stand up to gender discrimination and the apalling lack of drive and intelligence in our generation. We have a duty to educate and develop our family and friends.
Every single day I am distraught at the vacant space left where hope used to be from hearing and seeing sheer stupidity. Regardless of skills like basic literacy, we have been failed by our communities, allowing young women (and men too!) to rely on parental/government financial support coupled with a spoon-fed mentality, people today are lazy, stupid and completely void of social skills and manners and are destroying the world around them. We need to stand up and challenge the perception that we are weak, clueless and lacking composure.
Stop showing up my gender and generation, you useless slobs.
Thanks.

Baking with Maddie.

This girl is a natural in the kitchen, only using recipes for ingredient deduction, she develops food by eye. Thank you, Maddie, for teaching me how fun and rewarding baking can be.

ARTPOP.

Lady GaGa has finally hit her creative nail on the head. Her new work, titled ARTPOP is a clever tribute to thumping retro pop music. The lyrics of her new single are as lacking as you'd expect from this genre though her statement is honest and the imagery in the video campaign is fresh and bold. This young woman has never looked better and her snappy design team are rolling out the good stuff. She looks healthy and strong, I think she has a bit of a belly and I 'applaud' her for it.

Check out her new single here.

Birthday BBQ.

My gorgeous friends in Cardiff demanded I celebrate my 25th birthday with them, even just a little. I came back from Brighton with a few days to spare so we had a barbecue in the sun, it was so lovely. Veggie burgers for me, halloumi, Coronas and Hello Kitty party hats to boot. Brilliant.

Acoustic Guitar.

My gorgeous friends Molly & JJ drove up from Bath to visit. After a brilliant jaunt through Roath Park and the usual silly antics only a best friend can bring we ended up in shop with Molly buying me an acoustic guitar. All my life I've learnt how to play instruments and had friends and family asking me to make the most of having a singing voice, I used to sing quite a lot.
It'll be a challenge to learn from scratch but I have a bit of faith. I'd say watch this space but I'd be too scared of the pressure.

Peanut butter & jam.

A few mornings ago I was getting ready to work the late shift, making breakfast. Knowing I wouldn't be eating until late, I grabbed the bread and decided to make some toast. I chose PB&J, despite the gacky thickness of it all. It's not far from having cake for breakfast. My housemate started accusing me of being nothing short of a freak, claiming PB&J is strange and doesn't know of anyone bar American's who regularly eat it. This guy is in his 40's and he's from Devon. I've decided he's socially detached and must have been living under a dark rock for the last four decades. We were animatedly discussing this in the kitchen for quite some time. I posted the dilemma online and to my joy, the populous of my online community responded with gusto. It seems that everyone besides Alec are well aware of the collective consumption of peanut butter and jam. Even the few who don't care for it, acknowledge it. In your face, Alec, I win.
By the way, it was raspberry jam in case you were wondering.
