Champagne region.

What an amazing holiday! I've missed blogging though. I can't believe I went actual whole days without going online. At one point I considered deleting my facebook because it was so nice not having to bother! Of course if everyday life was just as it was on holiday then I wouldn't need facebook and twitter, it was just nice, so much to look at, so much so see and do.
So our first stop on our trip to France was a tour of the Moët & Chandon champagne cellars on the Avenue du Champagne in Epernay (a town just north east of Paris, before you get to Reims), slap bang in the middle of the Champagne region, surrounded by vinyards. The tour was good with the added bonus of actually tasting it at the end, but it was quite cold being underground in their maze of chambers. All in all, very impressive.

Then we drove back to Reims and with time to spare we went for a walk around town where we found an enormous beautiful cathedral. It was breath taking! So huge, so much detail and the stained glass was insane. It was so peaceful too, I could have sat in stared at it all for hours. The whole day was finished with a nice stroll around the cafes and ice cream parlours, all the while dodging the mental traffic.

This was all in one day! Poor Boyfriend had driven through the night all the way from Wales, so we had an early night, ready for Paris the next day. xoxo
